CONNIE SEBRIS-UPENIEKS

Connie Sebris-Upenieks passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on October 12, 1941, in Riga, Latvia, she was named Gerda Konstance. The Sebris family came to Canada in 1950 and became citizens by 1955. Connie earned a B.A. degree in 1964 from Victoria University, Toronto, and worked as a librarian for Humber College, retiring in 2006. She was married to Dr. Ludviks Upenieks, with whom she shared a love of history and travel to its landmarks in Europe. Their legacy is in Toronto school and college endowments. Connie rests with Ludviks in Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill, and is remembered by her brothers, Norbert and Robert, and by the Sebris family, with admiration and love.
