CHARLES RICHARD DAFFERN
Charles Richard Daffern passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 98. He was a devoted husband to Ruth (Bradley) for 61 years and a dedicated caregiver in her final years. He leaves behind an incredible impact and lasting legacy that includes a strong moral code, a deep and broad record of community care and volunteering, and core values of social justice and equity, personal responsibility, loyalty, and environmental stewardship, which he ingrained and shared with his children, Christopher (Joyce) and Jillian (John Parker), and granddaughter, Katherine Parker. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Katherine (Kitty); his brothers, Harry (Joan) and James (Marion); and in-laws, Joyce (Elmer) Dobson, Marion (Bruce) Maw, and Ross (Velma) Bradley. He is survived by his sister, Margarette (Robert) Taylor; sister-in-law, Ann (James) Farquhar; and many nieces, nephews, and their families. Celebrations of life will be held this summer in his lifelong community of the Beach (Toronto) and at the family cottage. Aquamation has taken place. The family would be grateful for donations in Charlie's memory to The Red Door Family Shelter or Habitat for Humanity.
