Carol Skewis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Skewis, who departed this life on October 20, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on December 18, 1942, in Toronto, Ontario, Carol was a beloved member of her family and community. She is survived by her former husband, James Skewis; her children, John DeGuerre (Tara), Carrie Wilson (Darren), Don (Michelle), and Ian Skewis (Daina); her grandchildren, Georgia, Marin, Aidan, and Tyler; her brother, Robert Hawke; and her nieces and nephews, Phillip, David, and Ryan. Carol was also the wife of Bill DeGuerre. Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home Scarborough Chapel, located at 2900 Kingston Rd, Scarborough, ON M1M1N5. A funeral service will follow from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location, with a reception from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Carol will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON M4T2M1, with burial occurring from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
