BRIAN PAUL BURNIE

Brian Paul Burnie passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in Toronto on May 24, 1944, Brian is lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-six years, Jill, and their sons, David, Erik, and Stephen. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Adele, Zachary, Hayden, Danielle, and Ryan, as well as his sister, Clynella McCartney, brother-in-law, Peter McGovern, and sister-in-law, Marcia McGovern, and her family. Brian was predeceased by his sister, Carol. A professor at George Brown Polytechnic College, Brian enjoyed retirement and was known for his quirky sense of humour and love of card games. He donated his body to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College to support medical education and research. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember Brian on Tuesday, August 4th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory's Catholic Church.
