BARBARA BRUSER
Barbara Josephine Bruser passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Toronto, at the age of 83. She lived in Toronto most of her life and loved the city. Barbara attended events hosted by the University Women's Club of Toronto and was a fervent theatregoer. She was also a serious fan of the Canadian Football League, following the Blue Bombers, for whom her father, orthopaedic surgeon Dr. David Bruser, was a team doctor, and was an Argos season-ticket holder. Barbara was proud of her role in helping to develop an antigen test for prostate cancer during her long career as a lab technician at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. She loved art, a passion she shared with her mother Gladys, who was a painter. Barbara had a galloping case of wanderlust and saw more of the world than any other Bruser. She is survived by her brother Bert and his wife Joan, and her sister Brina, and her niece Jessica and nephew David. Barbara's family is planning a celebration of life, the details for which will be available on Humphrey Funeral Home's website when they are finalized. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the CNIB or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
