ALDO VIOLI

Aldo Violi passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 91. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Nancy, whom he was married to for 59 years, as well as his children, Paula, Andrew, and Jeffrey, and their spouses, Jason, Lila, and Jennifer. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Madelaine, Owen, Will, and Phoebe, his sister, Silvana Handa, and many nieces and nephews. Aldo was predeceased by his parents and four siblings. Born in Bova Marina, Italy, in 1935, he immigrated to Canada in 1954 and became a proud Canadian citizen in 1962. As a business owner and member of the Italian community in Toronto, he played a role in establishing Corso Italia on St. Clair Avenue West. In 1993, he co-founded Mellow Walk Footwear. Aldo enjoyed various activities, including politics, opera, and scrabble. He also loved walking along the Humber River, reciting Latin, and composing poetry and stories. The family will receive friends at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel on Friday, June 12th, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. George's on-the-Hill on Saturday, June 13th, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Health Centre or Dorothy Ley Hospice.
