ALAN RICHARD MARTIN

Alan Richard Martin, born on October 25, 1944, in Toronto, passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 81. He was the son of Mary Ellen Walker, originally from Moorefield, ON, and Thomas Marshall Martin, who hailed from Jarrow, England. Alan was predeceased by his brother, Ted (Edward), and sister-in-law, Lynn. He is survived by his spouse, Karen Wild; daughter, Shannon; beloved niece, Debbie Cowan (Mike); brothers-in-law, Steve (Hayley) and Ron; sister-in-law, Jeanette; and many nieces and nephews, along with Karen's daughter, Jane, and grandchildren, Jessica and Adam. Alan had a distinguished 50-year career at Smith and Andersen Engineering, with a passion for architecture that began at Danforth Tech. He enjoyed music, photography, family genealogy, and traveling. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston for their compassionate care. A celebration of life will take place in late spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Matthews House Hospice.
