AKIYE "MAY" TAKAHASHI

Akiye 'May' Takahashi passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on January 10, 1930, she was the devoted wife of the late Toshio 'Stan' Takahashi; loving mother to Wayne (Barbara), Elaine, Paul, and Susan (Ken); doting grandmother to Kiyomi and Shane (Heidi); and affectionately known as Bachan to great-granddaughters, Sophia, Aaliyah, and Emiko. She was the youngest daughter of the late Suekichi and Masa Kodama. Predeceased by her siblings: Teruo (Nonnie), Isamu (Mitsuko), Minoru (June), Tsuyoshi, George, and Tadao (Theresa) Kodama, and Hannah (Shigeo) Katsura. Survived by her sisters-in-law, Toshi Kodama and Fumiko Ohori. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, starting at 2:00 p.m., at the Toronto Buddhist Church (1011 Sheppard Ave. W.). In lieu of flowers or Koden, donations may be made in memory of Akiye 'May' Takahashi to the Toronto Buddhist Church.
