Maurice Sutherland

The family announces the passing of Maurice Sutherland of Timmins, Ontario, on October 22, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on April 28, 1958, Maurice was a cherished member of his community and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary-Rose Sutherland (Louttit) and George Louttit. Maurice is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Sutherland, and his children: Dennis "Casper" Sutherland, Glen Sutherland, Darren, Daryl, Sheryl, Frank, and Jean Okimaw. He was a proud grandfather to numerous grandchildren, including Avery Kataquapit, Tessa, Tommy, Chantel, Ethan, Cameron, Chad, Kiersten, Cage, Tia, Darrian, Jerome of Kiera, D. J., Kayla, Rylie, Ty, Jesse-May, Nike, Kevri, Ekin, Christine, Jermaine, Khayden, Jason, Dilon of Cloude, JJ, Joseph, Ava, Opelia, Elouise, Ciara, Deckand, Zeke, Landon, Nolan, Zekiah, Evec, Luka, Dyson, Hailyn, Drake, Zayne, Avis, Alexis, Brooks, Anya, Analeia, Jean, Tessy May, Layla, Amanda, Madison, Conner, Benji, Brytono, Mia-Jean, Katie, Sophie, Thomas, Jasper, Malakai, and Zara. He is also survived by his siblings: Dennis Sutherland, Roy Louttit (Theresa), Steve Louttit (Linda), Celine Louttit, Catherine Louttit, Molina Louttit (Philomen), and Dorothy Louttit. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, located at 150 Balsam St S, Timmins, ON P4N2E2. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM at the same location. The family requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society - Société Canadienne du Cancer.
