Maria Merenda

Maria Merenda, a resident of Timmins, Ontario, passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on May 6, 1947, she was predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Ida Fiorino. Maria is survived by her beloved husband, Giuseppe Merenda, and their children: Rosetta Fournier (Gilles), Tony Merenda (Joanne), Julie Chiera (Frank), Romeo Merenda (Angie), and Paolo Merenda (Shannon). She will be missed by her grandchildren, Astrid, Sophia Fournier, Brittny (Codey), Nadia Merenda, Joey (Michelle), Grady Merenda, Jonathan (Emma), and Marissa Chiera, as well as her great-grandchildren, Maximus, Oliver, and Jaxson. Maria is also survived by her brothers, Michele (Nilde), Luciano (Rosetta), and Aldo (Gina), along with her siblings and siblings-in-law. Visitation took place on September 3, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on September 4, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church, followed by a reception at the Porcupine Dante Club. The family requests that donations be made to Sacred Heart Parish or The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
