Aila Penttila

Aila Penttila, of Timmins, Ontario, passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on April 27, 1936, Aila was a beloved member of her family and community. She was predeceased by her parents, Elo and Sarah Jarvensivu; her daughter, Crystal Chapleau; her siblings, Eddie Jarvensivu (late Joan) and Violet Commando (late Benny); and her nephew, Allan Commando. Aila is survived by her husband, Pentti Penttila, and her children: Wendy Lavigne, Raymond, Daniel, Luc, Cindy (Robert Vien), Victor, Victoria, Carl Penttila, April, Nancy, and Brayden. The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Atlantic Provinces in Aila's memory.
