John Marissen

John Marissen passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born on August 6, 1953, in Saint‑Thomas, Ontario. He is survived by his children Wendy Marissen (Matt), Julie Marissen, Erin Barker (Robert), Megan Marissen (Tony) and Tony Marissen (Alicia); his grandchildren Kayla, Andrew, Addison, Jared, Hazel, Hayden, Rhys, James, Ellie and Sophie; his former wife Janice Schuurman (Jeff); his brother‑in‑law Dirk VanDixhoorn; his friend Rick; and Annie and Harry Marissen (Ida). He was predeceased by his parents Teunis and Hennie Marissen and his sister Nancy VanDixhoorn. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ostrander's Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6, followed by a funeral service at the same location from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society South‑West Partners or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, either online or by cheque payable to Ostrander's Funeral Home (519‑842‑5221).
