Johnny Mottola

Johnny Mottola of Thorold, Ontario, passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on January 8, 1943, he lived a life enriched by family, friends, and community. Johnny was predeceased by his parents, Peter Mottola and Rosa Mottola, as well as his siblings: Murray Mottola (Mary), Betty Harpes (Jim), Guido Mottola (Stephanie), Alma Dickerson (Jim), Alfred Mottola (Carol), and Julio Mottola. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carmela; his children, Alicia MacMillan (Ken), Peter Mottola (Jessica), and Justyne Baldassarro (Dan); and his grandchildren, Tanyon, Camdyn, John, Nicolina, Annabella, Kaydynce, Vincenzo, and Carmela. Johnny is also survived by his siblings, Jean Hetherington (Ken) and Peter Mottola (Judy), along with his siblings-in-law, Anthony Conte (Roseann), Mary Rees (Richard), and Pina McDonnell. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Pleasantview Funeral Home, located at 2000 Merrittville Hwy., Thorold, ON L0S1E6. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. The family appreciates memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or Hospice Niagara.
