John Harry Bailey

John Harry Bailey, a cherished husband, father, uncle, and grandfather, passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 79, in the home he built, surrounded by his loving wife and devoted daughter. Born in Collingwood, Ontario, and raised in Dundas, John established a respected teaching career in Toronto before retiring to Thornbury, where he had connections since the 1960s and became a full-time resident in 2000. His family expresses gratitude to his oncologists, Dr. Anjum and Dr. Sandhu, along with nurses Crystal and Cindy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer care at Owen Sound Hospital (Brightshores Foundation) or to ShelterBox Canada. A funeral celebration will take place at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 165 Russell St. E, Thornbury, Ontario, at noon on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
