Marilynn Ball
Marilynn Ball, of Caressant Care Home, Bonnie Place, St. Thomas, and formerly of Sparta, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, at her late residence, in her 94th year, at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late Max William Ball, who died in 2004, and was the dearly loved mother of Monica Lynn Meunier and her husband Ron Lapchinski, Jeffrey Max Ball and his husband Richard MacKinnon, and Brent Robert Ball, whose wife Fleur predeceased him. Marilynn was the dear sister of the late Irene Casten, who was married to the late Ray, the late Ronald Marshall, who was married to the late Margaret, the late Patricia Hubert, the late Robert Marshall, who was married to Diane, the late Gloria Woodford, who was married to Bill, Carolyn Buchanan and her husband Robert, and Fred Marshall, whose wife Connie predeceased him. She was the cherished grandmother of Shawn Meunier and his wife Melissa, Jordan Meunier and his wife Karina, Anthony and Natasha Ball, and the great-grandmother of Jasper Meunier. Marilynn is sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Born in St. Thomas on July 1, 1932, Marilynn was the daughter of the late Fred and Zeda Marshall. She worked on the farm with her husband and was a long-time member of Sparta United Church, where she was a popular soloist for many events, and a member of the Sparta U.C.W. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas, where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 27, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to all the staff of Bonnie Place for their care.
