Jane OEGEMA

Jane Oegema of St. Thomas passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 94. She was reunited with her beloved husband, Herman Oegema, who predeceased her in 2017. Jane was the loved mother of Margaret Zylstra, Derek, Jeff, John, Nathan, Lucy Zylstra, Bernie Oegema, and Evelyn Kaastra. She was also a cherished great-grandma of 46 precious children. Jane was born on May 11, 1932, in Nijeveen, The Netherlands, to Hendrik and Luitje Strijker. She was predeceased by her sisters Aafke, Annie, and brothers Roelof, Jan, Gerard, and Wolter. Jane is survived by her sisters Alie, Hillie, and Anneke in The Netherlands. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family. The funeral service will be held at The Junction Christian Reformed Church on Friday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Thursday, June 4, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Junction Christian Reformed Church or Christian School Foundation.
