Hieronima (Rzeznicki) Szubanski

Hieronima (Rzeznicki) Szubanski of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at the Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 89. She was the loving wife of the late Jan 'John' Szubanski. Hieronima was the dearly loved mother of Iwona Baraniak (late Zdzislaw) and Eva Zdzienicki (Richard). She was the cherished grandmother of Alex Baraniak (Jennifer), Suzie Zdzienicki (Tara Kovich), Jennifer Zdzienicki (Frank Blackmore), and Thomas Zdzienicki. Hieronima was also the loving great-grandmother of Ava, Landon, and Mackinlee. She was born in Poland on August 22, 1936, to the late Jozef and Stefania Rzeznicki. Hieronima is lovingly remembered by her sister Teresa Zawada with family in Poland. She will be resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St, St. Thomas for visitation on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 7-9 p.m. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels Church on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin.
