Gojko "George" ZOVKO

Gojko "George" Zovko, aged 86, of Talbot Manor in St. Thomas, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital after a period of declining health. Born on July 3, 1940, in Široki Brijeg, Herzegovina, Croatia, he immigrated to the Northwest Territories in the 1960s, where he was soon joined by his future wife, Milica. The couple later moved to St. Thomas in the early 1970s, where George worked diligently at the Ford Motor Company assembly plant until his retirement in the mid-2000s. He was known for his strong work ethic, love for gardening, and generosity. George is predeceased by his wife Milica (Karacic) Zovko (2020). He is survived by his children Darren (Dana) and Tina (Jason), along with their children, and is fondly remembered by his siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at Williams Funeral Home on September 1, 2026, from 6-8 p.m., followed by a funeral service at St. Leopold Mandic Catholic Church in London on September 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with interment at Holy Angel's Cemetery.
