Joan Constance PEARCE

Joan Constance Pearce passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the age of 96, at the Margaret Bahen Hospice, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on July 1, 1929, in Montreal, Joan was the cherished wife of Ed Pearce and the devoted mother of two sons, Carl and the late Arthur Walasek. She was predeceased by the father of her children, Otto. Joan is survived by her son Carl and his partner Laura Pontiggia, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, Joan pursued various careers, including working as a hematologist at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, IL, for 33 years. She was also an avid traveler and enjoyed numerous hobbies. A visitation and funeral service will be held at Forrest & Taylor Funeral Home on May 19. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Philanthropic Educational Organization, Chapter B-ON.
