Verna Lucille Barstead

Verna Lucille Barstead of Sudbury, Ontario, passed away on October 12, 2026. Born on April 4, 1935, she was a beloved member of her community. Verna was predeceased by her husbands, William 'Cubby' Matthews and Ken Barstead; her parents, Ida and Wilfred Ross; her son Doug; and her siblings, Melvin, Lester, Orvil (Rose), Cyril (Violet), Dora Richway (Alvin), Billy (Betty), Ilene Bell (Tom), and Melvina Labre (Gerald). She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Matthews and Ross Matthews (Ruby), as well as her grandchildren, Jason Matthews (Shelley), Jennifer Matthews (Brody), Tyler Matthews (Ashley), and Alexa Matthews.
