Rita Desjardins

Rita Desjardins of Sudbury, Ontario, passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her parents, Pierre Auguste Dubé and Phoebe Dubé; her husband, Georges Desjardins; her sons, Paul and Robert Desjardins; and her siblings, Léo Dubé, Wesley Dubé (late Anne), Léola Savard (late Henri), Laurier Dubé, Eileen Alain Winn (late Julien), Rolland Dubé, and Bernard Dubé. Rita is survived by her children, George Jr. (Carmen), Rachel Henry (Ray), Lynne Duguay (late Daniel), Marc Desjardins (Lise), and Léo Desjardins (Guylaine). She leaves behind her grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Nicholas, Daniel, Alain, Shawn, Jeffrey, Neil, Nathalie, Zachary, Parys, Louise, Julie, Sylvie, Geneviève, and Stéphanie; her great-grandchildren, Kieran, Maxime, Mavis, Maddie, Madden, Emily, Peter, Ethan, Brady, Cayden, Owen, Eliott, Vincent, Carter, Olivia, Ellie, Coralie, Adalie, Michaela, Levi, Lorenzo, Giovanni, Aila, Everett, Rowan, Shawn, Lindsy, and Evan; and her sister, Henriette "Bebette" Merits (late Harry). Rita is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Donations may be made by cheque or online to the Alzheimer's Society.
