Mary Cherney

Mary Cherney of Sudbury, Ontario, passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on June 14, 1933, she was a beloved member of her family and community. Mary was predeceased by her parents, John and Pearl Marchycha, her husband Walter Cherney, and her brother Walter Marchycha. She is survived by her children, David (Nancy) and Dianne Furchner (Bob), along with her grandchildren Jasmin Richter (Derek), Jason Cherney (Odessa), Sarah Furchner (Alex), and Amelia Furchner. Mary also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Jake, Tess, Brinleigh, Graham, and Quinn, as well as her sisters, Emily Bohach (late Bill) and Betty Statz (late Howard). In honor of her quiet strength and kindness, the family requests that donations be made to the Arthritis Society.
