Marguerite Catharine (nee Paisley) Hore

Marguerite Catharine Hore (nee Paisley) passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, at the age of 88. Born in Sandfield Township on November 20, 1937, she grew up on her family's farm in Tehkummah. After graduating high school, Marguerite began her career at the Sudbury Star newspaper and later worked for RBC until her retirement, after which she returned to Manitoulin Island with her husband, Norm. A dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she formed lasting friendships throughout her life. Marguerite cherished family visits, always preparing cookies and fresh baking for her loved ones. She is survived by her sons, Tom (Donna) and Tim; sister-in-law, Marilee Hore; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and her first husband, Paul Hall. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Manitoulin Health Centre Auxiliary, the Manitoulin Centennial Manor, or a charity of choice in her memory.
