Leona Florence Martel

Leona Florence Martel passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North on June 29, 2026, at the age of 97, just weeks before her 98th birthday. Born on July 20, 1928, Leona lived a life filled with love, resilience, and laughter, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Martel, on August 15, 2015, as well as her son, Trevor Martel (Joanne), and daughter, Marie Pichette (Gary). Leona is survived by her daughter, Joyce Bowing (Chris), son, Andre Martel (Carla), sister Rita Irwin (Stan), brother Lionel (Gerrie), along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Royal Canadian...
