John Varpio

John Varpio of Sudbury, Ontario, passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on February 15, 1940, he was predeceased by his parents, Irene and Voldemar Varpio, and his brother-in-law Richard. John is survived by his wife, Alice-Mae Clarke; his son, Michael (Tasha); and his grandchildren, Annie, Alex, and John. He also leaves behind his children, Lara (Johan Larsson), Andrew, and Marcus; his brother, Martti; nephews Ken (Julie) and Jim (Renee); and brothers-in-law John (Nadia) and Walter (Evelyn). Visitation will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Epiphany. In lieu of flowers, donations to the McCulloch Hospice or the Church of the Epiphany would be appreciated.
