Eric Punkari

Eric Punkari of Sudbury, Ontario, passed away on August 7, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born on December 1, 1942. Predeceased by his parents Herman and Vieno Punkari, his sister Vilma (Bob Watt), his in‑laws Archie and Janet McLeod, and his siblings‑in‑law Frank, Neil McLeod and Mary Visser (McLeod), he is survived by his wife Greta; his children Marty (Denise), David (Colleen), Keith (Christina) and Krista Kowaluk (Kyle); his grandchildren Jacob, Ryan, Liam, Emily, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, Paige, Cory and Scott; his great‑grandchildren Jack and Mia; his sisters Marlene (Murray Maddock) and Judy (late Frank Bussey); a close friend Ron Santala; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service was held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Michael Vagnini Hall of the Tom Davies Community Centre (Upper Hall, 325 Anderson Dr, Lively, ON P3Y 1M8). Donations in his memory may be made to Maison McCulloch Hospice.
