Fred Knecthel

Fred Knecthel of Stratford, Ontario, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on August 8, 1936, Fred was a cherished member of his family and community. He is survived by his wife, Audrey (Hopf), and their children: Janet Amicucci (Simon), Joan Stephen (Kevin), and Douglas (Michelle). Fred was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Rosina Mary Howard, Robert John Knechtel, and William James Knechtel. Visitation took place on September 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at W. G. Young Funeral Home, followed by a reception at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation, West Perth Village Nursing Home, or a charity of your choice.
