Fred Knechtel

Fred Knechtel of Stratford, Ontario, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on August 8, 1936, Fred is remembered for the joy he brought to his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Audrey (Hopf), and their children: Janet Amicucci (Simon), Joan Stephen (Kevin), and Douglas (Michelle). Fred also leaves behind seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Rosina Mary Howard, Robert John Knechtel, and William James Knechtel. Visitation took place on September 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at W. G. Young Funeral Home, followed by a reception at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation, West Perth Village Nursing Home, or a charity of your choice.
