Edward James (Ted) Palmer
Edward James (Ted) Palmer of Kincardine died peacefully on June 19, 2026, in his 85th year, at the age of 84. He was the loving husband of Annetta Bandura. Ted was the much loved father of Grant (Anita) of Winnipeg, Tanya (Wade) of Stratford, and Christopher (Amanda) of London. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael (Kelli), Tom, Michelle (Jason), Jacob (Rebecca), Noah (Karina), Rebekkah (Zachary), Bradley (Moumita), Shannon, and Nathanael (Samantha), and great-grandpa to several great-grandchildren. Ted is deeply missed by his siblings Patrick (Judy), Lynda (Bob), and Karen (Lorne), as well as by several nieces and nephews and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews. He is remembered with love by members of the Bandura and McConnell families. Ted was predeceased by his first wife, Dianne, his parents the Reverend James and Evelyn Palmer, and step-grandson Thom Welch. Ted taught at high schools in Leamington, Essex, Winnipeg, Stratford, Toronto, Tillsonburg, and Ingersoll. With Dianne, he served as a Salvation Army Officer at corps in Toronto and St. Thomas and wrote the book Full-Time Families. The family will receive friends at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Tuesday, June 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 41 Mornington Street, Stratford, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24. Interment will follow in Avondale Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at https://www.holytrinitystratford.ca/podcasts/worship-media. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Chapel and Outreach Center (formerly St. Paul's Anglican Church) through the funeral home.
