Barry Schmidt

Barry Schmidt of Stratford, Ontario, passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born on June 16, 1946. He was predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Florence Schmidt; his parents‑in‑law, Clifford and Vera Fehrman; his siblings Janice Junker (Bruce) of Grand Bend and Ron Schmidt; and his sister‑in‑law Sharyn Schmidt. He is survived by his wife Nancy Schmidt (Fehrman); his children Sherri Beatty (Brad) and Scott Schmidt (Hayley Flanagan); his grandchildren Brock, Brayden Beatty, Reese and Henry Flanagan; his sisters Joyce Gingerich (Ray) of Alberta and Linda Battler (Keith) of Kincardine, Ontario; and his sisters‑in‑law Dianne Schulz (Tom) and Janice Horan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Rotary Hospice Stratford‑Perth, with a specific appeal to the Alzheimer Society Huron‑Perth.
