Veso SOBOT

Veso Sobot passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the age of 92. He was the greatly loved and admired father of Jelena Sobot-Serwatuk (David) and cherished grandfather of Venezia and Victoria Serwatuk. Veso is respectfully remembered by Jelena's mother Rada Surowaniec (Ron) and was the dear brother of Dusan Sobot (Dusanka). He was predeceased by his parents, Milan and Joka Sobot; brothers Rajko Sobot (Mira) and Dragan Sobot; and sister Stevka Jelicic (Dusan). Veso is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, especially nephew Milan Jelicic, who was very supportive over the years. A retired 32-year employee of Dofasco, Veso lived at Amica Stoney Creek for the last six years. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Amica Stoney Creek and Joseph Brant Hospital for their care and support. Visitation will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8, STONEY CREEK, on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Mountview Gardens. Memorial contributions to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
