Richard BAKER

Richard Baker passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026, at the age of 93. He was predeceased by his wife Jean, who passed away in 1994, as well as two daughters, Gwenn and Shirley, his mother Lydia, and his brother Rae. Richard will be deeply missed by his son David and his wife Darlene, his daughter Cathie, and his grandchildren Sherri, Brandy, Michael, David, and Jeffrey, as well as his many great-grandchildren. Born on July 7, 1933, in Winnipeg, Richard moved to Toronto with his family at a young age and later settled in the Hamilton area, where he lived for most of his life. He worked at Dofasco for 37 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 166 and the Royal Canadian Legion branch 622. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Satellite Health facility and Idlewyld Nursing Home for their care and support during his final months. A visitation will be held at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME on August 17, followed by a service. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice in Richard's name are welcome.
