Pietro MAURO

Pietro Mauro passed away peacefully at Heritage Green Nursing Home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in his 94th year, surrounded by comfort and compassionate care. He was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Erminia, who predeceased him in 2019. Pietro will be lovingly remembered by his children, Carmine Mauro and his wife Gina, Gianni Mauro, and Angela Neglia and her husband Luciano. He was a proud and cherished Nonno to Liana McConville and her husband Niall, Victoria Costanzo and her husband Lucas, and Julia Neglia, and an adored Bisnonno to Gemma, Rosalia, Robbie, Renato, and Thomas. He was the dear son of the late Felice and Angela Mauro, and a beloved brother of Silvio Mauro and his wife Iolanda, the late Antonio Mauro, who was predeceased by his wife Dina, Concetta Leo, whose husband Rosario predeceased her, Rita Talarico and her husband Ottavio, Franca Moraca, whose husband Guildo predeceased her, the late Aldo Mauro, who was predeceased by his wife Rosalba, and Fernanda Mauro. Pietro will also be missed by his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family in Canada and Italy. A special thank-you to the staff at Heritage Green Nursing Home for their exceptional care and compassion. Pietro immigrated from Italy in 1957 and worked in many establishments, but he will be best remembered as everyone's favourite bartender. He took great pride in preparing homemade cured meats and delighted in serving them alongside the fresh bounty from his garden. Visitation will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME.
