Mary VAN VEEN

Mary van Veen passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the age of 97, just a few days after her 97th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Jan F. A 'Arnold' van Veen, who died in 2018. Mary was a loving mother of Paul, Dirk, Janet, Carolyn, David, and Carl. She was a cherished grandmother of Mandy, Derek, Kris, Steven, Lauren, Morgan, Daniel, Callum, and Alisa, and a great-grandmother of Spencer, Cooper, Karleigh, Parker, Olivia, and Claire. Mary is predeceased by her granddaughter Janessa Mikleus, brother Owen Thomas, sister Ann Goff, and nephew David Goff. She will be deeply missed by her brother-in-law John Goff in Wales, as well as many extended family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, at the Stoney Creek Legion Main Room, from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Downs Syndrome Society.
