Joanne Patricia SINDREY

Joanne Patricia Sindrey, born in Hamilton on April 27, 1947, died peacefully on August 17, 2026, at the age of 79. She was the daughter of the late William and Norma Braun and was raised in Stoney Creek alongside her three sisters, Gail, Cheryl and Wendy, all of whom predeceased her. Joanne married her high‑school sweetheart, Robert Sindrey, and their marriage spanned 56 years. She is survived by her husband Robert, her son Russell, daughter‑in‑law Katie, and grandchildren Colin, Taya, Lillia and Sophie, as well as brothers‑in‑law, a sister‑in‑law, nieces, nephews, her best friend Helen and family friend Jenny. Predeceased by her parents and sisters, Joanne devoted her career to teaching at Parkdale Elementary School and later as a substitute teacher. She was an avid knitter, known for her handmade slippers and Christmas stockings. A private family ceremony will be held, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Living Hamilton.
