Helen Wardley

Helen Wardley, née Carpick, passed away peacefully at Hamilton General on June 23, 2026, at the age of 97, with her family by her side. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Gray and Connie Vanderbaaren, and her son, Scott Wardley. Helen was a loving grandmother to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Eva Carpick. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Graham, her parents, Conrad and Ann Carpick, her brothers, Lawrence, Phillip, Tod, William, Jack, and Victor Carpick, her sisters, Irene Vanburen and Elizabeth Carpick, and her sons-in-law, Christopher Devine and William Gray. Born in 1929, Helen trained as a nurse in The Pas, Manitoba, where she met her husband, Graham. The couple eventually settled in Burlington, Ontario, and Helen worked at Joseph Brant Hospital. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, attending Blue Jay games, and engaging in discussions with her friends at Amica Stoney Creek. A private family service will be held, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. The family kindly requests donations to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation.
