David Wakelam

David Wakelam, also known as Steaklam, Captain Splash, and Dad, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his wife, Sheila, in 2009. David is survived by his daughter, Lisa. Born in Attercliffe, South Yorkshire, he spent his childhood and early years in the British steel industry before transitioning to sales and eventually retiring. He enjoyed a long retirement, creating many memories with his family, including road trips with Sheila and Lisa, business trips, and time spent at 'The Pond' and the club. The family would like to thank the healthcare team at Room 144, Juravinski, for their exemplary care. A gathering will be held on Sunday, May 3rd, from 2-5 p.m. at Donald V Brown funeral home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, where a short reading will take place at 3 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their memories of David.
