David James Catlin

David James Catlin passed away in Hamilton on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the age of 83. He was the devoted husband of Monica, father of Gregory Catlin and Jennifer Sheppard, and grandfather of Megan, Elizabeth, Brayden and Shayne. He was also a great‑grandfather to Jaelyn and Jackson. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Lillian, and his sister, Ann Johnstone. Dave spent more than 34 years employed by CN Rail. Visitation will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with tributes at 7:30 p.m. Cremation will follow. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
