Charles Keenan
Charles Keenan passed away peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on April 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He devoted 44 years, 6 months, and 2 weeks to the City of Hamilton Forestry Department, where he built a long and respected career. Charles was known for his strong work ethic and friendly nature. He took great pride in his work and especially cherished showing his grandchildren around his office. Beyond his work, Charles had a deep love of hockey and proudly officiated as a referee in the OHL, earning the respect of players, coaches, and fellow officials. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Pam of 58 years, and his children Brian (Melanie) and Wade. Charles was a proud grandfather to Brian Jr. (Carter), Kristina, Miranda, Sheldon (Kandice), Jade (Nathan), Wade Jr (Taylor). He was a cherished great-grandfather to Chace and Noelle, who held a special place in his heart. Charles is also survived by his siblings Sharon, Robert (Laurie), and Ronald (Marilyn), and will be fondly remembered by many extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Charles Keenan Sr and Elizabeth (Betty) Keenan. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada would be greatly appreciated.
