Carolyn Alice (nee Stewart) BRIGGS

Carolyn Alice Briggs (nee Stewart) passed away on June 1, 2023, at the age of 86, at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred, on June 1, 2023, after nearly 64 years of marriage, as well as her parents, Alice and Ted Stewart. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Adrienne, granddaughter, Vanessa (Calvin), and great-granddaughter, Effie. She is also survived by her sisters, Marilyn Ogilvie (Robert) and Brenda Long (the late Brian), niece, Marianne Long (Dan), nephews, David Ogilvie (Kelly) and Douglas Long (Lisa), and their families, as well as her sister-in-law, Nancy Briggs. Born in Hamilton, Carolyn lived in Hamilton and Stoney Creek her entire life. She worked as a secretary and insurance broker for Bertram and Barry Insurance Brokers in Stoney Creek for over 30 years. Carolyn and her husband were active in various clubs and organizations, including the SCCA, Beach Canal Light House Group, The Head of The Lake Historical Society, Stoney Creek Historical Society, and Burlington Historical Society.
