Frances (Throop) Major

Frances (Throop) Major of Stittsville, Ontario, passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on March 10, 1930, she is remembered fondly by her family and friends. Frances was predeceased by her husband Bob, her brothers Needham Throop (late Evelyn) and Robert Throop (late Doreen), as well as her parents Sheldon and Lila Throop. She is survived by her children, Karyn Larson (Marc) of Stittsville and Andrew (Tara Beattie) of Calgary, along with her grandchildren David, Michael Larson (Kristina Arezina), Nicole, and Sydney Major. Frances is also survived by her sister Bernice Wyse (late Errol) and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes. A burial will occur on September 29, 2026, at Beechwood Cemetery, followed by a funeral service at Stittsville United Church and a reception at Stittsville United Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
