William Joseph "Bill" STAPLETON

William Joseph Stapleton, beloved husband of Marilyn for over 70 years, passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 92. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, on August 17, 1933, Bill was a devoted family man and a successful sales professional with a long career at Alymer, Del Monte, and Nabisco. He was a standout quarterback for St. Pat's College and a junior football coach. Bill and Marilyn retired to Wasaga Beach in 1994, where they enjoyed golfing, curling, and traveling with relatives and friends. Bill is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Peter and David (Anne), grandchildren Christine, Patrick, Rachel, Holly, and William, great-grandchildren Mileena, Ella, and Cooper, and siblings Val (Don) and John (Mona). He was predeceased by his wife's siblings Desmond (deceased) and Barbara (deceased), and his sons Philip (deceased) and Geoffrey (deceased). Visitation will be held at Carruthers & Davidson, and donations may be made to a charity of choice in Bill's memory. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date.
