Cato Josine Bayens passed away peacefully in her home at Park Place in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, on July 13, 2025, at the age of 89, with her beloved little dog, Holly, by her side. Born on October 19, 1934, on the island of Java in what was then the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), Cato lived an extraordinary life marked by resilience, love, and adventure. She is survived by her children, Jacqueline, Audrey, John, and Ronald. Predeceased by her husband, Johannes 'Jan' Hugo Bayens, who passed away in 1974. A funeral service will be held at Carruthers & Davidson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
