Gino FRADO

Gino passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving and devoted wife, Anna, and cherished family. He will be reunited with his parents, Vittoria and Salvatore; siblings Maria, Chiarina, Domenico, Pietro, and Richetta. He leaves behind his precious wife of sixty-three years, Anna; his loving children, Vicki (Oscar Turchi) and Rino (Christine); cherished grandchildren Dario, Luca, Nicholas, and Samantha. Dear brother of Concettina, brother-in-law to Philomena (Henri) and Rita (Paolo). Uncle to Lena (Ben), Sam, and many cherished nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy, and France. Gino was born in 1933 in the village of Castellino del Biferno (Campobasso, Italy), and he immigrated to Canada in 1954. In 1965, he established a steel fabrication business. Thanks to a strong work ethic and keen business sense, he enjoyed much success for several decades until his retirement. He leaves behind a legacy for his family that is rooted in love, kindness, generosity, wisdom, and strength. His greatest pleasures were being with his family for meals, celebrations, traditions, and annual family vacations where wonderful memories were created. In his later years, he took great pride in the company of his grandchildren while enjoying long walks with them, playing bocce, scopa, and instilling a strong work ethic and sense of family. His loved ones will profoundly miss his sage advice and warm, generous heart. Visitation will be held at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In memory of Gino, memorial donations to Niagara Hospice - Welland or the Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
