Audrey Mildred (née Worokevich) HALSTEAD

Audrey Mildred Halstead (née Worokevich) passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on June 26, 1940, in Saskatchewan, Audrey moved to St. Catharines, Ontario, with her family at the age of seven. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Halstead, and her longtime partner, Wally Nawrot. Audrey is survived by her children, Connie, John, and his wife Debra, and Robert and his wife Dennise, as well as her grandchildren, Kathryn, Elizabeth, and William. She was also predeceased by her sisters Evelyn, Lillian, and Marion, her brothers Alan and Harold, her sister-in-law Rose, and brothers-in-law Albert, Joseph, and Steve. Audrey is survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Worokevich. Before marrying Donald in 1960, Audrey worked as a bookkeeper. After his passing in 1973, she dedicated herself to raising her family. In 1976, she met her partner Wally, with whom she shared many happy years. Audrey enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time in nature. She and Wally purchased a cottage in 1991, where they hosted family and friends. Audrey loved birdwatching, traveling, and baking. Her family and friends will remember her warmth and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Ina Grafton LTC for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will be held at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
