Edward William CRAINEY

Edward William Crainey passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on April 9, 1936, in Belfast, Ireland, to Edward Crainey and Violet (Bell) Crainey, he left Ireland at a young age to come to Canada as an apprentice plumber. He was a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Crainey lived and worked in the Alliston area before moving to Lombard Manor, just outside of Smiths Falls. He was a member of the Russell family from 1969, and was affectionately known as 'Uncle Ed' by all who met him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. A celebration of his life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Smiths Falls Legion poppy fund or the charity of your choice.
