Arnold James Hermer

Arnold James Hermer of Smiths Falls, Ontario, passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on June 18, 1938. He is survived by his wife Penelope Joanne Hermer, his child Kelly Hermer, his stepsons Brent Devlin, Todd Devlin and John Devlin, his great‑grandchild Jessica, his siblings William Hermer, Lenore Clark, Helen Massey and Eileen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings Ester White, Jessie Clow, Mary Manion, Ralph Hermer and Clarence Hermer. His pets included Robert Kamryn, Reggie, Kourtney, Lilliana, Dylan, Bump and Edyne. Visitation took place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Lannin Funeral Home, 32 Main St E, Smiths Falls, ON K7A1A2, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. and a celebration of life from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the same location. The family requests donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.
