Mrs. Iris Gauthier

Iris Gauthier, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, in Smithers, BC, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Marcel, her children Daniel (Glenda), Jannine (Mark), and Maurice, as well as her cherished grandchildren Bowden and Aida. Iris began her nursing career in Hamilton, Ontario, which took her across Canada, including remote communities and Nursing Stations. It was in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, that she met Marcel, with whom she shared 46 wonderful years. An avid gardener, Iris transformed landscapes into breathtaking gardens and inspired many to cultivate their own. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 30, 2026, in Smithers, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smithers BC Helps Ukraine or a charity of your choice.
