David Henry Seely

David Henry Seely passed away at home with family by his side on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the age of 89. Mr. Seely of Simcoe was in his 90th year. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (nee Brennan) for 66 years. David was the loving father of Ann Seely (Carl Smith) of Ottawa, Gordon Seely (Kathy Koehler) of Burlington, and Audrey Wanner (Deepak) of Ottawa. He was the cherished grandpa to Amanda, Cara, Devon, Carmen, Aren, Olivia, Luke, and Chloe. David was the dear brother of Robert Seely (Lis), predeceased by John Seely and Peter Seely (Kate). He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. David began his career at Stelco in 1957, where he worked until 1993. In 1960 he moved from Montreal to Hamilton and later to Simcoe in 1988. He was a regular member of the Trinity Anglican Church and a deeply committed volunteer to the Simcoe Lions Club. Friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the FERRIS FUNERAL HOME, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe. The Simcoe Lions Club Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 5:45 p.m. from the funeral home. David's funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH, 80 Colborne St. S., Simcoe. The Venerable Rick Jones will officiate. Private family interment at Oakwood Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be made to the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation, Trinity Anglican Church, or the Norfolk Community Foundation.
