NEIL JOSEPH McKENNA

Neil Joseph McKenna, born on May 3, 1931, in Bolton, Lancashire, England, passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 95. Growing up in a working-class town, Neil took on responsibilities early, leaving school to support his family. He trained as a carpenter, served as a paratrooper, and excelled in sports, becoming a nationally ranked wrestler and rugby player. In his mid-twenties, seeking adventure, he emigrated to Canada, where he co-founded the Toronto Scottish Rugby Football Club. In British Columbia, he met Ann, and after marrying, they welcomed their first son before returning to Ontario. Over the years, they had five more children and fostered others, creating a loving home in Schomberg. Neil had a successful career in the electrical construction industry, retiring as a senior executive at State Electric. He is remembered for his intelligence, kindness, and generosity.
